The Cruisers at Colony Cove is one of the most active clubs in our great community and we don’t require you to have a golf cart; be it a cart, scooter, bike, convertible or whatever. We are known for the following things.

Friendly Social Club

The Friendly Social Club is your go-to club for entertainment.  We have monthly themed dances with bands and free pop-up dances.   We also host Parade of Stars, Game Night, variety shows, community sales, and Fright Night, to name a few.   Stop by Harmony Hall any Saturday morning from 7:30-9:00 for a free coffee and doughnut and check us out and buy your tickets for the upcoming events.  Membership is only $10 for all this fun!

Our monthly business and entertainment meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of each month at Ellenton Hall at 6:30pm.

Art Club

We are a group of residents that meet weekly on Wednesday at 1:00 – 3:00 at Bayshore House located on the south side by the river. We sketch, draw with pen, ink, paint with watercolors and acrylics and any other creative activity. Beginners and experienced artist are always welcomed, and for those that aren’t sure we have a supply closet with a full range of supplies and books to get started. We sponsor the annual Arts and Crafts sale.

Pickleball Club

The Colony Cove Pickleball Club is a group of enthusiastic, 55+ pickleball players. Located in Colony Cove, Ellenton, FL, competitive but fun games are played seven days a week between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. There are six beautiful pickleball courts and two tennis courts available for play. All levels are welcome. Clinics and lessons are periodically available. For more information,

Service Club

The Colony Cove Service Club is a group of residents who enjoy creating items to enhance the lives of others including Manatee County homeless, a local maternity home, seniors in assisted living and our Colony Cove neighbors dealing with cancer.

The following are some of our projects:  knitting and crocheting hats, scarves and lap robes for the homeless, shut-ins and nursing homes, creating decorations for nursing homes and sewing shirt protectors (adult bibs) and walker bags for their use.  We also make and sell beautiful jewelry items to benefit those Colony Cove residents who are battling cancer.

We meet every Monday morning at 9 a.m. in Bayshore House during the months of October through May.  Our dues are $5.00 per year.  If you want to know more, please contact

Aerobics Club

Our purpose is to share with you our water aerobic exercises in the pool, and how much fun you can have while meeting your neighbors. A lot of lasting friendships have come from our water aerobics classes. We have four volunteer instructors that teach classes Monday through Thursday, and on Friday non-completive Volleyball for fun.

South Club

You came south to retire, relax, and have fun. The South Club is a small friendly group. Any Colony Cove resident is welcome to join. We meet for coffee every Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m., at Manatee Hall. One dollar will get you a donut, bagel, or an English muffin to tickle your taste buds.

New York Club

The New York State Club in Colony Cove Membership meets every 2nd Thursday of each month from 10:00 A.M. - 'til 2:00 P.M. 

 At the meetings our members share their experiences that we have had while living in New York State. In addition to cultivating new friends from Colony Cove we plan events with the members input that everyone enjoys. We have a picnic planned for our April meeting. At each meeting members enjoy a "Pot Lunch" and plan future events, such as dances, field trips and other interesting events.

Pennsylvania Club

Our mission is to provide former/current Pennsylvania residents and friends the opportunity to meet and participate as a group in social activities while promoting camaraderie.

Currently, our Club holds monthly morning meetings complete with coffee and donuts typically on the third Thursday of the month. Our events committee arranges trips each month to many interesting destinations. Recently, we’ve enjoyed hosting monthly meet and greet bonfires at the Pavilion as well as a spring potluck picnic.

The Manatee River Rats we raise funds for the charitable causes within the Cove. We are known for the following fund-raising events.

Singles Club

The Singles Club of Colony Cove was organized in December 2019 by Bob Porter to let members know they were not alone and to extend friendship to single individuals in our community.

We hold a monthly membership meeting on the Second Thursday of each month, 1:00 pm at Friendship Hall.

The last Sunday of each month we meet for lunch/dinner at a selected restaurant.   We gather together for community sponsored events, i.e. dances, Halloween event, game night, pavilion events, and community sale.  

The Club also plans and enjoys scheduled bus trips to various locations such as:

The Bishop, Ringling and Classic Car Museum, The Florida and Mote Aquarium, Board Excisions, Manatee Viewing, Glass Blowing, Shopping trips, and Mystery Lunches.

Hobby Club

Harmony Hobby Club is a group of women who enjoy being creative, doing crafts, and socializing. 

We meet weekly all year long at Ellenton Hall on Tuesday mornings at 9am for about an hour. We share crafting ideas and show off any items we have made on our own. Those that want to can participate in doing our scheduled craft project for the week. 

In the past we have made things such as wreaths, centerpieces, Christmas ornaments, and yard decorations. In the fall we do holiday bake sales as fundraisers, and in the spring, we hold our annual luncheon and fashion show.

Trivia Club

Spend a night with friends and neighbors and to meet new people, come join us the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at Manatee Hall. We start the Trivia game at 6:30 P.M.  It will surprise you what we are able to remember from “Our Good Old Days”.  Cash prizes 1st team place $25.00, 2nd $15.00, 3rd $10.00.

Ohio Club

Our meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 1:00 in Manatee Hall. Fun bus trips are scheduled at these meetings. New members are welcome.  We FREE smiles and laughter at every meeting. Membership is open to all cc residents. Dues are $5 per person annually.  You can sign up for membership at any of our meetings or at FSC coffee on Saturday’s.

Gray Pretenders Club

Grey Pretenders 

We are a small non-professional theater group who meet on the first Wednesday of the month. Our dues are $5 a year. We put on the LEGENDS show in February and the plays are done in March. We try to put on 5 or 6 -10, 15-minute plays that can make us laugh. Laughter is what is needed in our lives today.

Karaoke Club

New England Club

The Colony Cove New England Club is a social organization designed to give residences of Colony Cove from the New England States an opportunity to meet as a group. One does not need to be from New England to join the New England Club! 
The Club is seasonal and meets between October and April with their monthly meetings being held the last Monday of each month at Manatee Hall. Extra events are scheduled during most of the seven months.

 The Meeting usually consists of breakfast at 8:00am and business meeting at 9:00am. 

The club plans group activities ranging from outings to popular Florida amenities to organizing and presenting dinners and dances, for not only the club but occasionally for all residents of Colony Cove. These activities are published in the Breeze so you can plan ahead. 

The New England Club is a relatively small club with a good sense of humor and is friendly and welcoming to all members. Annual fee/dues $5.00 

There are 5 elected officers each with a one-year term.

Boat Club

The Colony Cove Boat Club is the oldest club, according to our sources, in the Cove. 

Our first Commodore, Arthur Jakob, was elected in 1973, and I am the 43rd Commodore elected to lead this club. The club is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with many events planned, including our first Commodore’s Ball, stay tuned for more details as it will be open to all residents of the Cove. 

The CCBC is a non-political, non-profit organization and is solely organized for the mutual benefit of its members and their way of life. Our members endeavor to promote boating, boating safety, goodwill, and fellowship. The organization will also be a resource for education, support of the local environment, and understanding of the ecosystem. 

Our monthly meetings run from September through May and meet at Manatee Hall the third Monday of the month at 7:00PM.

Wood Workers  Club

Wisconsin/Minnesota Club

The Wisconsin/Minnesota Club is open to all residents of Colony Cove; you do not have to be from Wisconsin or Minnesota.

We meet at Friendship Hall the second Monday from October through March for a luncheon at 12 noon.  The only exception to this is meeting for lunch at a restaurant in December and February.

Our last meeting of the season is held the second Monday in April at the Pavillion.

We have scheduled the Fun Bus for six trips next season.

Our dues are $5.00 per person per year.

We are usually set up at Saturday coffee at the back of Harmony Hall.
